
Back2Basics is a sports-educational based, not-for-profit organization supporting the youth of Lancaster City and surrounding communities. The foundation seeks to uplift our youth ages 8-18 through a unique combination of sporting and educational classroom style curriculum.
To mentor our youth in Lancaster City and surrounding communities in developing necessary life
skills that promote accountability, team concept, sportsmanship, healthy choices, and academic excellence through the fundamental structure of athletics.
Vision statement
To provide a state-of-the-art sporting and educational complex housing after school and online learning programs, AAU and high school sporting events and a peaceful haven for our youth to gain support and awareness for their futures through the aid of counselors, teacher aids and community leaders. Our vision is to help our youth achieve:

- Lancaster City's First boys AAU traveling team(food, traveling,gear, tournaments) & a future girls AAU traveling team
- Help funding for educational and sports equipment for Lancaster City Schools
- Sports Camps for Youth
- Youth educational and sports field trips (basketball hall of fame)
- Scholarships (inner city kids receiving additional aid to attend college)
- Educational speakers to educate our inner city youth (life skills)
Jerry Johnson Facts
Born and raised in Lancaster, Pa. Jerry Johnson is the father of three children and the oldest of six brothers and sisters.
During his four year basketball career at J.P McCaskey, he averaged 19.2 points per game, while leading his team to an impressive 73-20 overall record as a starter and a 29-3 mark his senior year. His average of 19.7 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds as a senior at J.P McCaskey, helped set the school's career scoring record with 1,792 points and earned a Second Team AP Pennsylvania Big School All Star Honors.
Jerry continued his academic and basketball career at Rider University in New Jersey. Not only did he earn a Bachelors Degree in Communications, but also made an immediate impact on the court, helping the Broncs claim the 2001-02 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular season title and tying Lionel Simmons' freshman scoring record with 36 points in a MAAC Tournament game. His efforts that year led to Jerry being named MAAC Rookie of the Year. A three-time team MVP, Jerry capped off his senior year by leading Rider to another regular-season MAAC crown and an appearance in the 2005 MAAC Tournament championship game. A three time First Team All-MAAC and two-time Second Team ALL-MET selection, he finished his collegiate career with 2,036 points which ranks second on Rider's all-time scoring list behind Darrick Suber.
Shortly later, Jerry was invited to join many of the nation's top college players at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament to Showcase his talents in front of NBA and International scouts. He also attended two NBA tryouts with the New Jersey Nets and Los Angeles Clippers. He now plays professionally in Europe.
Organizational Structure
B2B is a soon to be 501c non-profit (credential is pending) organization. We are solely supported on the gifts, donations and sponsorships by individuals, businesses and government grants. B2B is operated by a Board of Directors and volunteers.
