Winner winner, chicken dinner

AAAAHHHHH!  It feels good to end the season as a champion for the second straight year. I am very blessed!!! It was a very good season for my team and for me, individually.  The championship series was the best of five and we won three games to zero. Mons Hainut  was a good team, but we were just  better.

In game 1, we started the game really well and with a big lead.  We ended up going into half time up 20 points. In the 3rd quarter " Mons" gradually got themselves back into the game, even taken the lead by 4 points with about 1:50 left in the game.  Mons had a few chances to seal a victory with an open three pointer, which would have gave them a seven point lead with under 1 minute to go in the game. They missed and I penatrated to the basket and found my man "Walsh" in the corner for a 3 pointer of our won; now its a 1 point game. We foul not intentionally,  but we did, and they missed two free throws.  We did get the rebound but the ball went out on us. Now they have the ball on the side out inbounding the ball.   We play good defense and they get a 5 second call. Game 2, we are on the road in a very tough atmosphere, Mons starts the game with a 10 pointt lead. We know if this team starts out good they are capable of winning the game in the first 5 or 6 minutes of the game.  The last time we played them at their home court we lost by 30 points.  So gradually we got back into the game and at half time the score was dead even at 40-40.  We also know a team like Mons, doesn't know how to win a close game as they tend to get rattled.  And what do you know, we stayed close and got a little lead with 5 minutes to go in the game and built on it. They started throwing the ball away and just didn't know what to do down the stretch. We ended up beating them by 10 points on the road, which is huge during the playoffs which now gives us a possibility to finish the series in 3 games.

Game 3, the third game in 5 days, which is always the hardest game, everyone is tired and banged up but its championship time so who cares about being tired. We know with Mons being down 2-0 in the championship series that they're going to come out the game very dirty, which they did. It was a hard fought game with guys missing a lot of shots and missing free throws. It was also hard to get a clean open shot. After playing a team this many times in 5 days it just comes down to who's the better team!  We are obviously, and we made the plays we needed to win the game, keeping about a 7 to 8 point lead late in the 3rd quarter and into the 4th quarter. To becoming 2008-09 Champions!!!!!!!!!!

This was the best team I've been on since I have been playing professionally. Since I came to this team  there has been nothing but success with 2 championships, 1 cup title and 2 regular season titles.  And with one more season left in my contract and alot of my teammates coming back, there's a great possibility to add to that..!!!!!! It's also a Great way to the END the season and START my vacation..
