Q & A with Jerry

Q: Who were your role model growing up and why?

A: My role models are  my parents for raising me the right way and helping me grow as a young man, without them and what they went through to raise me I wouldnt be who I am today. Stephen Powell is another role model for me, specially in my adult years. Very successful, hard working person that i can always communicate with at anytime and will always point me in the right direction no matter what the situation is.

Q: What did you do to stay positive as a kid?

A: I just stayed busy with sports at the boys club. Growing as young kid its  very important to stay busy, there is so much temptation and peer pressure to do negative things as young kid.

Q: How did basketball help your personal development?

A:  Basketball help me grow as a man, alot of my decision were based on basketball. My ambitions were to get a free scholarship to play basketball, and i knew to reach this goals, I had to make the grades, be loyal, be the best player possible and stay out of trouble. Basketball also taught me life skills, working with others, being on time, respect and to this day i use these same techniques day to day and many more.

Q: How important was it to your success to keep positive people in your circle?

A: I think positive people set the tone far as your future success, if you base you self around positive people more so  in life you will  become successful, it just rubs off on you.

Q: Explain your strategy for more success?

A: Always have goals, goals are very important for your success.  Goals give you the motivation to reach your success. Without  setting goals for yourself it hard to be successful.

Q: Explain how it feels to be able to give back to your community and surrounding inner city youth?

A:  It feels good to be in a great position give back and is very important to the kids in my community.  Just about every kid in the city has a dream to be a professional athletic and most importantly get a free education. Why not try and surround the kids with the same type of atmosphere that i was able to take full advantage of and be successful.

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to touch base with everyone and give  a update on myself. Currently entering my 6th season as a professional basketball player in Europe. I just relocated myself, family and basketball Career to Vilnius, Lithuania to play for Euroleague Team "Lietuvos Rytas". The City of Vilnius is a very nice, the best city I lived in during my professional career, very easy to adapt because of the high percentage of english speaking people. My kids Jeriyah and Jerry Jr attend "Vilnius American International School" which is a private school. My family received a very warm welcome from the schools directors, teachers and staff.

On the business side, I started the season ok, but was progressing everyday getting better.  Our team has been struggling putting wins together.
